Someone give me recipe

I've been experimenting with medium since I started this comic up again. All the ones from before were drawn with H pencils or lighter and level-balanced to actually be visible. The past few days, I've been drawing over them with 2B pencil and scanning that, but this time I decided to use a nice ball-point writing pen I had lying around and then erase the lines. I kind of like it, although it's hard to get subtlety. Not sure how well I was pulling off subtlety before, though, so I might try this some more.

Obviously need more practice drawing hands, and maybe I should use reference photos for those as well as faces and clothing.
